Add arrows to a screenshot

Paste a screenshot, drag from where your eye starts to the thing that matters, and an arrow appears with a crisp head and a white outline so it reads on light and dark UI alike.

How it works

    Paste or drop your image

    Press Ctrl+V (⌘V on a Mac) right after taking a screenshot, or drop a PNG or JPG onto the editor.

    Drag to draw the arrow

    Start in empty space and release on the target. The head goes where you let go. Hold Shift to snap to 45° angles.

    Copy the image straight into Slack, Jira or a GitHub issue, or download a full-resolution PNG or JPG.

How to place arrows people actually follow

  • Point from empty space into the target, never from the target outward. The eye follows the shaft to the head.
  • One arrow per point. If you need three, switch to numbered steps (N) so the order is unambiguous.
  • Don’t let the head cover the thing you’re pointing at: stop just short of it.
  • Keep the outline on for busy screenshots. A 2 px white halo keeps a magenta or red arrow visible over photos and dark mode.
  • Pair an arrow with a short text label (T) when the problem isn’t self-evident: “Total ignores discount”.

How do I add an arrow to a screenshot for free?
Paste the screenshot into the editor above (Ctrl+V or ⌘V), make sure the Arrow tool is selected, then drag from where the arrow should start to what it should point at. Download or copy the result. There’s no account and no watermark.
Can I change the arrow colour and thickness after drawing it?
Yes. Choose the Select tool (V), click the arrow, then pick a new colour or S/M/L size. You can also drag either end point to re-aim it.
How do I draw a perfectly straight or diagonal arrow?
Hold Shift while dragging. The arrow snaps to 0°, 45° and 90° angles.
Does it work for photos too, not just screenshots?
Yes. Any PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF works. Screenshots are simply the most common use.
Is my screenshot uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is drawn on a canvas in your browser and exported there. It never leaves your device.
