Add text to an image
Click anywhere on your image and start typing. Choose outlined text that stays readable on any background, or a solid label that looks like a sticky tag on the screenshot.

Paste from the clipboard, drop a file, or tap “Choose image” on your phone.

Click where the text should start and type. Enter finishes, Shift+Enter adds a new line. Turn on “Label” for a filled tag.

Use Select (V) to drag text into place, double-click to edit it, then download as PNG or JPG.
Writing text that works on a screenshot
- Write the finding, not a description: “Pay button overflows the card on 1280 px”, not “button”.
- Keep labels under about eight words. Longer explanations belong in the ticket body.
- Use the Label style on busy screenshots. A filled pill has guaranteed contrast whatever is behind it.
- Put text in empty space and connect it with an arrow rather than writing on top of the UI you want people to see.
- Size L is about 48 px on a 1,280 px wide screenshot, roughly the height of a heading, which stays legible when the image is shrunk in chat.

How do I add text to a picture online without an app?
Open this page, paste or choose your image, pick the Text tool (T), click the spot and type. Press Enter to place it, then Download. It all runs in your browser.
Can I edit text after placing it?
Yes. Double-click the text to edit the words. With the Select tool you can drag it or change its colour and size.
How do I make text readable on a busy background?
Keep “Outline” on to get a white halo around each letter, or turn on “Label” to put the text on a solid colour pill.
Which fonts are available?
Text uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface the Braille Institute designed to keep similar letters (like l, I and 1) distinct. That makes it well suited to notes on screenshots.
Will the image lose quality?
No. PNG export keeps the original resolution pixel for pixel. JPG is exported at 92% quality for smaller files.
